What I did over the summer: Preparations for RUAS 2011-2012 Academic Year, Planning a friend’s wedding, Learning how to make cakes and tutoring.

Plans after graduation: Work at an accounting firm and obtain my CA designation.

Most memorable moment at TRSM: A few memorable moments – winning the CMA Case Competition, very first event I planned for RUAS and the ACHIEVE 2011 Conference and Competition.

If I were a first year student again, I would…: Join RUAS earlier and attend many networking events and make my grades my first priority.

What I did over the summer: Aside from continuing studies in spring/summer school, I worked two part-time jobs in the fun and fast-paced restaurant service industry. I’ve alsoembraced the season as much as possible by going outdoors whenever Ihad the chance – whether it was at the beach with friends or running along Harbour front.

Plans after graduation: Expand my travel horizons. I want to have the opportunity to experiencedifferent lifestyles and cultures around the globe before entering the ‘real’world. Ultimately, I’d like to begin my career in public accounting and striveto obtain a CA designation.

Most memorable moment at TRSM: Co-founding and successfully executing Ryerson’s first public speakingcompetition – Ryerson’s Next Top Speaker. It’s amazing what you can doin such a short time with a great team to work with. Watching all the hardwork come together and unfold is definitely the most memorable thus far.

If I were a first year student again, I would…: Do nothing different – you live and you learn.

What I did over the summer: Summer internship at Nestle as an Accounting Analyst

Plans After graduation: To pursue an accounting designation and obtain some international experience by working and traveling abroad. Hopefully one day can pursue an MBA or go to law school.

Most memorable moment: ACHIEVE 2011.

If I was a first year again i would…: Get involved right from the get go. TRSM has so many valuable opportunities for students to get involved. Find a club or course union and run with it!

What I did over the summer: Over the summer I completed both of the intermediate accounting courses, another human resources course, and worked part-time at Rogers. I was also a student panellist at Cardware 2011.

Plans After graduation: I’d like to pursue an accounting designation or start my own business.

Most memorable moment: My most memorable moment would have to be shaking hands with Kevin O’Leary in Cara Commons.

If I was a first year again i would…: I’d do it all over again. Meet new people, attend events, and just have fun.

What I did over the summer: Over the summer I worked for the Centre for Career Development & Employment Partnerships at Ted Rogers School of Management, as well as spent time with friends and family.

Plans After graduation: After graduation, I hope to obtain my CA designation and complete a Master’s degree.

Most memorable moment: My most memorable moments at TRSM include those during my time involved with RUAS, especially ACHIEVE 2011.

If I was a first year again i would…: If I were a first year student again, I would get involved in students groups as soon as I could.

What I did over the summer: Over the summer I worked at a small accounting company as a bookkeeper.

Plans After graduation: After I graduate I plan on obtaining my CA designation.

Most memorable moment: My most memorable moments at TRSM so far has been playing intramural soccer with some amazing teammates.

If I was a first year again i would…: Have gotten involved with all the extracurricular activities I am currently involved in much earlier, because you can get a University degree from anywhere; what makes the experience unforgettable is the people you surround yourself with.

What I did over the summer: I studied for two courses from the Chang school. I volunteered and spent the rest of the time in-between friends and family.

Plans After graduation: After graduation, I plan on pursuing a CA designation and do a little traveling in Asia.

Most memorable moment: My most memorable moment so far at TRSM would have been accidently pulling an all-nighter while studying with some friends before a final.

If I was a first year again i would…: I would take an extra course during my first semester to ease up my upper year schedules and attend more student clubs.

What I did over the summer: Over the past summer I worked as a summer intern at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. It was trulyan experience of a lifetime and it further solidified my decision of why I would love to spend mycareer at PwC. Check out my write-up on the RUAS Professional Outlook for more info.

Plans After graduation: I plan on obtaining my CA and working with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.

Most memorable moment: My most memorable moment at TRSM was when I joined RUAS and became the AccountingCoordinator. During the interviews I applied to becoming the competition associate as Ithought I would work my way up the RUAS ladder. After the interviews I received a phonecall from the vice-president of RUAS who is now the president, and she said that the team hada lot of confidence in my abilities and were officially offering me the position of AccountingCoordinator. For me, this was a very memorable moment as I have enjoyed working with otherson RUAS and will continue to work hard in order to prove that the choice in offering me theposition was an excellent one.

If I was a first year again i would…: Have researched for any available accounting related jobs in order to have some accounting experience. Although first year is overwhelming in the sense that one is in a new environment, getting involved and seeking work would have definitely benefited me.

What I did over the summer: I finished my exchange program on the west coast of Australia and traveled the east coast for the remainder of the time

If I was a first year again i would…: choose languages as my electives

What I did over the summer: Over the summer I worked at the Toronto Transit Commission in Accounts Payable, and spent time with family and friends.

Plans After graduation: Be in a career where I have the opportunity to travel the world, as well have work-life balance.

Most memorable moment: RUAS, ACHIEVE 2011, Frosh 09/10

If I was a first year again i would…: start being involved to student groups earlier, because that where you meet so many people and share memorable moments!

What I did over the summer: I went on vacations to Africa and England. England i went to for a holiday and attend the royal wedding, while in Africa I did some volunteer with a local organization. During the time i was in Toronto, I worked at an accounting firm. I also attended two of my cousins’ weddings.

Plans After graduation: I plan on working to pursue my CA designation.

Most memorable moment: My very first day of university walking through the hallways at TRSM seeing the size of 1-067.

If I was a first year again i would…: Get more organized and involved within school. I would definitely take part in tri mentoring as a mentee and then as a mentor. I would try to stay on top of all my school work and try to do everything in advance. Furthermore, I would focus on my studies and try to obtain higher grades.
