Designation Liaisons

Mitchell Clark

CMA Student Ambassador – Ryerson

Mitchell Clark is a 4th year student in the Business Management Program who is majoring in Accounting with a minor in Business Communications. He intends on pursing his Certified Management Accountants (CMA) designation upon graduation. With his CMA designation, Mitchell plans to work in internal audit for one of the big five banks and has further plans to work with a consulting firm.

During the summer of 2011, Mitchell worked with the Canadian National Exhibition as an auditor. In the past, he has worked with the City of Toronto and St. George’s Golf and Country Club. In his CNE audit role, Mitchell observed the revenue cycle and provided quality feedback and recommendations related to parking regulations, entertainment concessions and the entrance gates. Working with the City or Toronto, Mitchell helped with the process of issuing licenses for charities and not-for-profit organizations in order for them to run events and games to raise money.

As the CMA Student Ambassador for Ryerson, Mitchell’s mission is to help students make the right decision when it comes to choosing an accounting designation. He will be supporting various events at Ryerson and plans to give presentations about CMA throughout campus. Mitchell hopes to speak with many students about CMA and help those in need of more information.

Mitchell is excited to attend events and network with individuals within the industries he is interested in, as well as other members of the CMA organization. He looks forward to representing the CMA designation throughout Ryerson University and welcomes you to contact him at cma.ryerson@gmail.com.

Michael Jor

CMA Student Ambassador – Ryerson

My name is Michael Jor. Myself, and Mitchell Clark, will be representing Ryerson University as CMA Student Ambassadors for the 2011-2012 school year. I am currently in my fourth year at Ryerson University’s Hospitality and Tourism Management Program with an interest with Project Management and Event Management. I enjoy being creative with marketing, connecting with different people from anywhere and also being involved with student life, connecting the right students to the right paths.

The reason why the CMA designation is great is that it allows a person like you or me take a step back and see the whole picture from the inside, it allows you to objectively find processes within a firm, re-engineer them, and explore endless opportunities. I am looking forward to helping students find their own calling in their lives and as well, to become a CMA and provide all the information they need to accomplish their goals.

I look forward to representing the CMA designation throughout Ryerson University and welcome you to contact me at cmasa.ryerson@gmail.com.

Kate Villanueva

Senior Board of Ambassador, ICAO – Ryerson

My name is Kate Villanueva and I am a third year student at Ryerson University. Initially, I aspired to be a filmmaker, but realized my strengths in business and accounting. Therefore, it became my goal to hone in on my leadership ability, which is a vital skill in the profession. Back in high school, I was heavily involved in an anti-bullying student group to help raise awareness against bullying in teens. This experience has taught me that leadership is best placed towards a positive change. This coming year, I look forward to meeting more students in the Ryerson community. When you see me around, don’t hesitate to approach me. I’m one of a few people who love small talk!

Cuong Pham

Junior Board of Ambassador, ICAO – Ryerson

My name is Cuong Pham and I am a second year student at Ryerson University. Over the past summer I attended Cardware 2011 as a speaker to give my views on the future of mobile commerce to executives varying from financial institutions, payment processing companies, and even the banking and financial services ombudsman office! I am also very involved with SIFE Ryerson and my accounting society (RUAS). Over the summer, we’ve been planning all of our events to be informative, fun, and valuable to our members and have set ambitious goals this year. I am looking forward to meeting as many students as I can this year so if you see me travelling between classes, feel free to say hi!

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions! cuong.pham@ryerson.ca.
